To reflect the expanded facilities and additional vets and support staff now in place at Grimsthorpe, from May 2010 we will be practising as TOWER EQUINE. We are able to offer:

Portable digital x-ray

This new system allows x-ray images to be viewed instantly on a computer screen, even in your stable. The system is fully portable so we can come to you.

Titan ultrasound

We have also purchased a new Titan ultrasound machine. Designed for use by the US Army, this high quality portable scanner is capable of producing hospital quality scans out in the field.

Equine surgery

We are developing a small surgical facility at Tower Farm. This will allow us to perform minor elective surgery as required.

Somerby clinic

In addition to our main base at Grimsthorpe, we maintain a small clinic at Somerby Riding School's new facility. Conveniently placed for clients in the Oakham and Melton areas, horses can come in for veterinary investigation and stay as inpatients if required.

AI Centre

In association with Brackenspa Stud, we run the area's largest BEVA approved AI Centre with excellent results in chilled and frozen semen. We also carry out mare infertility investigations, and the Stud offers stallion AI dummy training and a foaling services with alarms, cameras and a highly experienced team.

Roger Lee MA VetMB CertEM MRCVS

Roger has worked extensively in equine practice both in the UK and abroad. He is a Certificate holder in Equine Stud Medicine and has over 15 years experience including spells in Australia and Newmarket. Roger runs the practice's thriving BEVA approved AI Centres. His other veterinary interests include racing and competition horse work and he is Senior Vet at Nottingham Racecourse.

Alice Brown BSc(Hons) BVSc MRCVS

Alice secured an internship at Bell Equine clinic and followed this with 4 years equine practice at Chine House. Alice has a particular interest in lameness and equine sports medicine and is based at our Somerby clinic.

Irene Diego MRCVS

Irene has considerable experience in stud medicine and joins us having spent 7 years working predominantly in equine reproduction and neonatology in Ireland. Irene is also experienced in equine internal medicine and lameness investigation.

Claire Daly manages our accounts department and is available to deal with any accounts queries on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Office hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

We operate a 24 hour emergency service and our visit fees and routine prices are extremely competitive.
